Producer Profile

The Biscardo Family have been making wine from their base in Soave for over 150 years and are currently led by brothers Maurizio and Martino.

During the course of Maurizio’s long career, he has consulted for well-known wineries around Italy and in doing so came across the vineyards for their Puglian wines. Both the Pugliese and Veneto wines are characterised by an irresistible drinkability, aromatic purity and exceptional value for money.

Viticulture

Grapes are cultivated on small hills with limestone subsoil, south the Lake of Garda. This particular location and altitude give the wine a delicate minerality, important structure and typical floral fragrances.

Winemaking

The grapes are picked up by hand and then placed in wooden cases, this is usually at dawn or late in the evening to avoid that the grapes suffer from the intense hot of the day and avoid the risk of skin fermentation during transport. Once the grapes arrive in the vinification cellar, they are pressed immediately and the must is fermented under controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks (20°-23°C). The skins are generally kept in the tank for a long time together with all other natural chemical substances so that they can release the aromas with more intensity.

Tasting Note

A delightful and interesting blend that is light straw yellow in colour with slightly greenish tones. The bouquet is delicate, fresh and elegantly fruity. The taste is soft, mineral and slightly spicy and perfectly showcases the special location and altitude of the vineyards that make up this wine.

Food matching

This pairs with shellfish, seafood appetizers, white meat and pasta with vegetables.
